Ron House
About Ron House
Ron House, is the CEO of the West Sound Electric. Ron, a hydroplane fanatic, became a major sponsor last year immediately after watching the ULHRA's "Silverdale Thunder" hydroplane race in Silverdale, Wash. Ron watched "Silverdale Thunder" from his sailboat after being bitten by the bug watching the Unlimited Lights race at Seafair in Seattle just the weekend before. While the 8-cylinder Lighter-Than-LIGHTS ran on the course, one boat spun out right in front of Ron's sailboat - and then waved at him. Ron left the race and searched on the ULHRA website - www.ulhra.org - to find out who that driver was who waved at him. As it turned out, it was Bud McKay, a long lost relative. He has been hooked on hydroplane racing ever since, and has stepped up to be the team's Title Sponsor for 2009. If Bud's claim to fame is being the "Biggest Little Kid in the Pits," Ron has to be the "Second Biggest Kid in the Pits." Ron has well over a decade in public service as a Rotarian, and was named "Rotarian of the Year" by his peers in 2004. He is a United States Marine Corps veteran, and also actively involved in "Cell Phone for Soldiers." The plan is for Ron to soon go through capsule training and then make his hydroplane debut at the controls himself - fullfilling a lifetime dream. If you need quality, affordable electical work, give Ron a call at
360-782-0800.

Ron House, left, and Chris Olson, wait at the dock in Port Angeles for Bud McKay to return to the pits.

This pile of 105 unwanted cell phones on the deck of
the "GEICO of Lakewood Presents West Sound Elec-
tric" hydroplane will be recycled earning the "Cell

of free long-distance calling cards for the troops
overseas.
