Meet our Sister Boat
The Power Punch Performance Lubricants/Thunderstruck racing team

Meet our sister boat - The Power Punch Performance Lubricants/Thunderstruck racing team. The hull is owned and driven by Steve Clark, from Belfair, Wash. Clark is a veteran of hydroplanes and especially the competitive 5-Litre class.

Steve's also famous in the inboard racing community for lending a hand to any team, for any reason - especially for the Namron Racing Team.

Steve Clark, after winning the "Silverdale Thunder" in August of 2008, pops the canopy and waves to the crowd.

Here's an interesting shot. That's Steve Clark, in the yellow boat, racing against another fellow Namron Racing Team member, Mike Jarvis, in the hull that would become Steve's "other boat."

In 2006, Steve completed repairs to his very fast, canary-yellow Norberg 5-Litre. This was one extremely fast hull with the potential of running with the class of the Region 10 5-Litre fleet of Wally Johnston and Jon Zimmerman. In fact, at the 2006, Tastin' n' Racin' festival on beautiful Lake Sammamish, Steve was pulling on Zimmerman - until his left sponson snapped off as he entered turn two in the final heat going into the white-flag lap.

Steve did everything he could to try and get his boat to the beach so he could beach her rather than let the boat sink. He made it to about 30 feet from the shore, but his boat finally gave into the weight of the water and sank.

Steve Clark's "Thunderstruck" breaks apart and starts to sink at Lake Sammamish.

Just before the beginning of the 2007 season, Steve purchased his current hull. At one of his first races, he was involved in a horrific collision in Oroville, Wash., with the hull suffering major damage to the right sponson. In 2008, Steve landed the Power Punch Performance Lubricants sponsorship that allowed him to make the repairs to his boat about mid-season. Steve won the "Silverdale Thunder" race in August. But the following weekend blew up the engine at Pateros, Wash., running against the national modified boats, bringing an end to his season.

Steve's looking for sponsors for the 2009 season. Like the Namron Racing Team, you'll see Steve's boat on display all around Mason and Kitsap counties. Whether if it's for the season or for one race, talk with Steve about possible sponsorship. Who knows, if the schedule allows, you could wind up with a two-for one deal with two Belfair inboard hydroplanes supporting and promoting your business.
