Rick's first time in the cockpit was at the 2005 McChord Air Force Base airshow where the boat was on display for about 200,000 people.Rick fired up the engine much to the crowd's delight -- and he's been hooked on hydroplane racing ever since. Rick is ready to go at Silverdale to make his hydroplane racing debut in 2008,
but the weather didn't cooperate. Rick signed dozen of autographs in the pits
and handed out the famous Gecko Tattoos.

That's Rick going over in the cell testing in the pool.
Rick was already a certified scuba diver, so he's no
stranger to being under water. However it was new to
him being strapped into a confined space with a
5-point harness system. Rick made it out of the cockpit
in less than 20 seconds.
